quote]What I am saying is that IMHO there needs to be a balance so that the non PVPers can have equal (Not neccesarily the same) oportunities to gain the same sort of rewards.
That's not going to happen. CCP have chosen risk v reward as their main line of overall income balancing within the eve economy, meaning that you need to take increasing risks to get to the increasingly greater rewards. They are not going to let go of that structure since it has owrked quite fine so far. Every time we see something disturb that balance we end up having an issue within the greater eve economy.

How many PVPers out there will take the time to train up in industrial, science, and like skills to excell in an industrial playstyle? Consider that both industrials and warrior styles to be specialists in a complex world.
Actually, most of them do. What you should really do is get some experience of playing in 0.0 space before you take part in discussions like this where you make sweeping statements based on lacking experience. In the majority of 0.0 alliances, carebears and pvp'ers work together fine, and in some they are actually one and the same. Those latter are the ones that get how this game works.
It doesn't matter what gets you the power, be it pvp or industry, the objective of play is getting it.

Are you saying one group is better than the others? Do they deserve more of the rewards? I'm not prepared to make that judgement.
I am. You see, CCP made this game, and they've made it abundantly clear that the people that group up, organise themselves well, and diversify their interests so that they as a group can deal with the game in full rather then just a few chosen aspects, will be the ones with access to the better rewards and greatest potential.
In that regard, not I, but CCP judge, and they alreayd have.
Eve Online is not a game that caters towards those that wish to only play those parts that they like. And certainly not to those that do that yet expect or deem it reasonable to have access to all the rewards.
Excluding yourself from one aspect of the gameplay means placing yourself outside of the interactive community here in that way, and since the game bases most of its content on that community interaction rather then questing and grinding, CCP would not be very smart if they actually rewarded such behaviour would they ?
Also, you seem to have boruhgt with you a mental image where gameplay is divided into fighting and not-fighting. Sicne that is the traditional division between pvp and non-pvp play, between the ability to cause eachother grief and the lack of said ability.
In Eve however, you don't even need to fight to damage one another. You can do it in every way you can come up with. The division between combat pvp and industry is a faulty one, since it is not the division between consentual and non-consentual play in Eve.
